Thief of Camorr

Katharine likes to think she’s a Sky Pirate and that takes up most of her time. When she isn’t treasure hunting, she’s writing or playing video games and wishing Doctor Who and Farscape were real.

Oh, Beautiful: An American Family in the 20th Century

Oh, Beautiful: An American Family in the 20th Century - John Paul Godges As a non-American it was an interesting read, as I have less chances to discover what life was like there in the past. Telling the book in first-person is a good way to connect to the audience and though it's not my preferred format, it works perfectly here.A very interesting and accessible way to learn American history (you hardly reaslise you are as you read) and it's always good to see the good along with the bad at the same time.It tells the tale of a Polish immigrant family who become American, through struggles and hardship, yet also joys and wonder. I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads.
