Katharine likes to think she’s a Sky Pirate and that takes up most of her time. When she isn’t treasure hunting, she’s writing or playing video games and wishing Doctor Who and Farscape were real.
Everyone is so incredibly in-character - this really is just like an actual episode. The author is quite good at his craft, and I wish there were more to read.
I've given it a month, and now I'm giving up.Though this is not Lowe’s first work, it is her first entry in the fantasy genre. It’s a tale riding on the weight of honour and the demands that must be made when you have promised your life to a certain purpose. Undertones similar to Lord of the Rings are evident, though the naming of things leaves a little to be desired (Raptor of Darkness, darkspawn, then the stark contrast of ‘Yorindesarinen’) and the tropes are heavily in favour of regular fantasy fare.Review continued here: http://sentientonline.net/?p=3474
Another gem from the Office of Letters and Light. I need to buy another so I can keep one in perfect quality and another to write in!
I read this book as a child, and never since have I read something so completely DIFFERENT - nothing could ever match what this author has thought up.The characters are true to life - ugly, annoying, yet human. A fantastic read.
A story from the eys of a bear who thinks he's pretty fantastic. Sadly, he is treated as this is not so. The book has a happy ending though, so don't worry. In this book we see war from the eyes of the bear, children, and olde England. A fantastic book from my childhood - the thought of this book being forgotten and the next generation not getting to read it makes me sad, this is a book that really needs to be shared.
As you can see from the image, the story starts on the front cover. Everything about this book is fantastic, the characters are well defined - it's such a good story to grow up with. I probably wouldn't like reading as much as I do now, if not for this book when I was younger.
A fantastic view into the lesser known characters. I adore the story of Petrelli, and I won't say any more than that.
Possibly better than the first, or maybe only because my favourite episodes were in here. All I can say is, WE NEED MORE!
Quite surprising - at the start you don't see how it's going to continue at all.In short, I loved it.
I bought it for Ben Templesmith and in that I was right. Although Ashley Wood's art style is nice, I just didn't like the story, sadly. Ben though, as always makes up for it all.
